I honestly have no idea what this song is actually "about". It could be a break-up song. The lyrics are completely unaltered words that William Hoover wrote around 1980. I set them to music on the occasion of my mother's birthday. I'm treating it as a "mood" piece. My wife seems to like it a lot, so there's evidently some meaning that can be gleaned from it if you're in a pareidolic frame of mind (your new word for the day... look it up).
