Say goodbye to dear Aunt Gladys She’s joining dear old Fred She’s gone to meet her Maker! Raised to Glory! (I mean she’s dead) Someone here is guilty And we’ll find him ‘fore we’re through All we need’s a little evidence But we haven’t got a clue I heard that it was poison or possibly a knife I heard he used a pickaxe in the bedroom On his wife Someone here is guilty And we’ll find him ‘fore we’re through All we need’s a little evidence But we haven’t got a clue I heard she was stabbed with an awl through the heart! I heard she was found dead sitting in a car With a hose stretched to the window from the exhaust! It was a car, alright, but it veered off the road With the brake lines cut (or so I was told) On a cliffside highway sheathed with winter frost! She was pushed to her doom from a balcony! It was a poisoned page, ‘cause she loved to read! No, it was candy-coated mothballs for the kill! I heard she was shot with a .45! No, No! She ran off and is still alive And she hides out in a casa in Brazil! If he’s on the policy Or mentioned in the will There’s a chance that the murd’rer Could be waiting Among us still Someone here is guilty And we’ll find him ‘fore we’re through All we need’s a little evidence But we haven’t got a clue

-------- Here In Union dfl & wmh - Oct 13, 2002 I've been up, I've been down I've been around I've seen places in this world that people dream about I've felt the tropic sun, and the English rain But my traveling's done, and I've come home again To a place where the people are glad to see me No matter how long or far I've roamed Here in Union, where the weather is always sunshine Here in Union, where every hearth is home And you can swim the Broad River You can cross a city street Soon you're shaking hands with the next friend you meet Filled with faith in God above Feel His grace and feel His love Hospitality means no traveler's ever alone And I believe when the angels come to see me They won't have very far to take me home 'Cause in Union, every day is always sunshine Here in Union, every hearth is home 'said here in Union, the weather is always sunshine, sunshine, sunshine Here in Union, every hearth is home.

In My Memory 03:06
------ In My Memory dfl - May 6, 2009 [Benny] It feels like another lifetime When I saw the world through different eyes When I held her near...and you weren't here Who knew that things could change so quickly? Now for the first time in nine years I feel like I'm sitting in the dark As I reminisce... as I think back I didn't even know I was lonely 'Cause in my memory - it was a simpler time In my memory - people were kind In my memory - life was sublime To my memories I go When I need to leave the world behind [Jody] I've spent a lifetime wand'ring Moving from place to empty place Changing my name...changing my face Looking for someone who can love me... But now I'm here and you're so different, Would you even like me if you knew What I've been through... what I've had to do I don't even know if I like myself But in my memory - it was a happier time In my memory - love was divine In my memory - we had nothing but time But if my memory is true Benny, what happened to me and you? [Benny] In my memory - we weren't of one mind [Jody] In my memory - we weren't always kind [Together] In my memory - I must have been blind But that was long ago And I have missed you so Would you like to go... and make a memory with me?

Killin' Time 01:50
======= Killing Time dfl & wmh - Oct 13, 2004 Sittin' in the drive-in parking lot Layin' on the hood of Booger's car We're satisfied with what we've got With who and where we are. And when the talk gets kind of slow we'll cruise down Thompson Boulevard Oh yeah, we're having lots of fun down home in Union! Stoppin' by the Little Mint 'Cause the food is heaven sent And I can't believe my luck That's Gene in the chicken truck! Then up and away we go to cruise by the Dairi-O! Who said that life was slow down home in Union! [instrumental] Yeah, yeah, no reason and no rhyme No lookin' for no crime Just chillun killin' time down home in Union! Yeah, yeah, no reason and no rhyme No lookin' for no crime Just chillun killin' time down home in Union!

A Job For Me =========== [FAMILY] The man from the Union Mill came by He said he got a job for me! Said he built him a mill that’s five miles high And he got a job for me! My fam’ly will be welcome there They’re buildin’ me a mansion with room to spare I even heared they got plumbin’ there! And they got a job for me! [TOWNFOLK] They’s people rollin’ in from miles around ‘Cause they got a job for me! I never seen such a busy town! With plenty of jobs for me! My fortunes will be gotten In that friendly land of cotton I’m gonna be on Easy Street ‘Cause they got a job for me! [ALL] So we’re all aboard a southbound train And possibly we’ll never see Those rollin’ hills again There’s a land of opportunity Prac-ti-cal-ly beggin’ me to Plant myself and settle down Nevermore to roam So now I’m makin’ Union my new home! [CON-MEN] Look at the money just walkin’ around! Oh, the possibilities! Y’know, we could get rich in this little town Oh, the possibilities! We’ll just sell ‘em whatever they think they need So long as we can make it for chicken feed That’s just good business, don’t call it greed! Oh, the possibilities! [HOSPITALITY LADIES] Just sit right back and rest a spell Enjoy the hospitality! Our sandwiches will ring your bell Enjoy the hospitality! Our sweet tea tastes like it was blessed! So sit right down and be our guest The food here is the very best Enjoy the hospitality! [STATIONMASTER & ALL] So welcome to our friendly town We hope you’re going to cozy up And want to settle down It’s a land of opportunity Filled with possibility Enjoy the hospitality And put away your fear If you’re like me you’re gonna like it here! If you’re like me you’re gonna like it here!

SISTERS All of my life it was only me No one else to laugh with, only lonely me Though I loved my parents, It wasn’t the same As a sister with whom I could play Now I’ve learned my loneliness is done I can’t wait to see her – we’ll have so much fun! How I hope she likes me, And when this day ends We’ll be not just sisters – we’ll be friends [BRIDGE] I envied other families When I’d see them all together Happy as the birds that fly In flocks all of one feather I’d even envy them when they would fuss and fight For they always seemed to work it out, They always seemed to make it come out right. All my life I’ve waited for this day When she gets here I don’t know what I’ll say! Will she like my clothing? Will she have my hair? Will she want to know me? Will she even care? Well no matter if we don’t look the same We’ll still be sisters and I’ll make her glad she came! How I hope she likes me, And when this day ends We’ll be not just sisters – we’ll be friends

You'd think my family would see That big ol' stupid lummox Ain't good at nothin' much at all 'cept thinkin' of his stomach. But he's the boy, and even though My brother is a slob He gets respect from all we know He even gets a job And I don't think it's fair. And I don't think it's spite To say that this is just. not. right. But... You won't catch me pouting, or parting with a tear, You won't hear me sniffle, whine or cry It may not be tomorrow, it may not be next year, But I know I'm going to spread my wings and fly. There's a world out there, I'm going to see it all! There are things no one would dare I'm going to dare them all! I've seen some books and photographs Of wildebeests and tall giraffes. Of jungles and of pyramids That I'd like to appear amid. Of kangaroos and crocodiles And canyons that go on for miles, Of artists on the River Seine, Who paint their laughter, joy and pain. Of duchesses and dukes who preen And bow before their sov'reign Queen Of icy huts of Eskimos Who trade their kisses nose to nose I'm going to see it all! But sometimes when I say these things out loud My Ma and Pappa say that I'm too proud. They think they can protect me with rules that are like fences They say I'll settle down some day and come back to my senses But, if I could get a word in I'd say a fence won't keep a bird in Someday I'm going to spread my wings and fly!
